Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested in Miami as UK seeks extradition on new rape and trafficking charges
U.S. Marshals detained influencer brothers Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, under a sealed warrant. Both hold dual U.S.‑British citizenship. The arrest follows a request from Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for their extradition to face additional serious offences.
The CPS announced new charges that bring the total to 59 counts – 42 against Andrew and 17 against Tristan – including seven counts of rape, multiple counts of arranging or facilitating sexual‑trafficking, assault causing bodily harm, and 19 offences linked to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. The alleged offences are said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017, raising the number of alleged victims to seven. The brothers already face 21 separate charges in the United Kingdom and ongoing investigations in Romania.
British authorities are seeking to have the brothers handed over to UK courts, while the pair remain in U.S. custody pending extradition proceedings.
