Influencer criticized for charging for Lua Blanco funeral content

An Instagram influencer known as “Vidoca,” who has over 1.4 million followers, is facing intense social media backlash after attempting to charge followers for access to behind-the-scenes content from the funeral of artist Lua Blanco.

Despite the family’s request for a private service restricted to close friends and relatives, the influencer suggested a fee of R$ 15 per person to join a WhatsApp group for exclusive updates. In response to criticism, the influencer defended the move, stating the funds would help cover travel and production costs.

Lua Blanco, a 39-year-old singer and actress, passed away following a battle with cancer. Her wake is being held at the Cemitério Vertical Memorial do Carmo in Rio de Janeiro. The influencer has also indicated plans to travel to São Paulo to create similar content for the funeral of Benito de Paula.
