Influencer Yamatorino re-arrested in Tokyo on drug use suspicions

Japanese influencer Rino Tazawa, known publicly as ‘Yamatorino’, and her partner Kōta Fukumoto were re-arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police on October 7 on suspicion of consuming cocaine and ketamine.

The arrests follow a previous incident in September, when the pair was detained at their Roppongi residence for the alleged possession of approximately 0.4 grams of cocaine. During that initial investigation, authorities reportedly seized 21 bags of white powder and an ingestion straw.

While the initial arrest focused on possession, the new charges involve the actual use of the substances. Prosecutors have formally indicted Tazawa for the possession of roughly 0.024 grams of ketamine. Urine analysis reportedly confirmed the presence of both substances. While Fukumoto has reportedly admitted to the allegations, Tazawa has maintained her silence regarding the new suspicions.
