Influencers Gato Preto and Bia Miranda ordered to pay damages after Porsche crash

A São Paulo court has ordered digital influencers Samuel Sant’Anna, known as Gato Preto, and Bia Miranda to pay approximately R$ 211,000 in damages to victims of a high-speed traffic accident. The collision occurred in August 2025 on Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima when Gato Preto, driving a Porsche, ran a red light and struck a vehicle occupied by Edilson Maiorano and his son, Ivan Bartalot.

Toxicological reports confirmed the presence of alcohol, MDA, and THC in Gato Preto’s system at the time of the crash. The impact caused Ivan Bartalot to suffer a jaw fracture and required months of medical treatment. Following the collision, both influencers left the scene without providing assistance to the victims.

Judge Gustavo Coube de Carvalho ruled that Gato Preto is liable for the collision, ordering him to pay R$ 100,000 in moral damages to Ivan, R$ 60,000 to Edilson, and roughly R$ 1,300 for proven material damages. While Bia Miranda was not responsible for the driving, she was ordered to pay R$ 50,000 in moral damages (R$ 30,000 to Edilson and R$ 20,000 to Ivan) due to her social media conduct. The judge found that her videos, which mocked the victims and their vehicle, constituted unnecessary exposure and offensive behavior.
