Infobip reports surge in AI‑driven fraud and rapid rise of AI security solutions

Infobip’s 2026 Fraud & Security Report, based on analysis of billions of global interactions in 2025, shows a record increase in fraudulent activity driven by artificial intelligence. Phishing attempts now make up 49 % of blocked malicious content, up 94 % year‑on‑year. The use of AI by fraudsters to automate, scale and personalize attacks has lifted the number of detected threats by 77 %. At the same time, companies are accelerating deployment of AI‑based detection tools, with a 71 % rise in AI security solutions and a 105 % jump in behavior‑pattern‑recognition systems. Infobip’s chief commercial officer for telecom, Matija Ražem, said that leading organisations now embed AI security from the start of their communication infrastructure. The report also notes early adopters such as UK fashion brand NEXT, which uses Infobip Signals – an AI‑powered system that identifies and blocks synthetic traffic and fraud attempts.
