Infonavit replaces debt collection agencies with direct home visits
The Institute of the National Workers' Housing Fund (Infonavit) has discontinued the use of extrajudicial collection agencies. In their place, the organization has launched the 'New Credit Recovery Model,' which utilizes direct staff to provide personalized assistance to borrowers facing financial difficulties.
Under this new scheme, Credit Recovery Advisors will conduct home visits from Monday to Sunday, between 8:00 and 19:00 hours. The goal is to evaluate each borrower's financial situation and offer tailored solutions to help them maintain their property.
To prevent fraud, authorized personnel must wear an institutional white shirt, an Infonavit vest, and an official ID featuring a photo and a QR code. Borrowers can verify an advisor's identity by scanning the QR code or visiting the official Infonavit portal under the 'Tengo un Crédito' section.
Infonavit emphasized that these advisory services are free. Advisors are strictly prohibited from requesting or receiving cash payments, harassing, threatening, or performing evictions. All credit payments must be made exclusively through the Institute's official channels.
