Infonavit advances housing programs across Zacatecas, Tlaxcala, and Yucatán
Mexico is advancing its 'Vivienda para el Bienestar' (Housing for Well-being) program through various state-level developments involving Infonavit, Conavi, and Sedatu.
In Zacatecas, construction has reached 30% of its 27,502-unit goal. In Tlaxcala, officials recently delivered 100 homes in the La Cañada development, part of a 10,000-unit regional target. Meanwhile, in Yucatán, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena and Infonavit Director Octavio Romero Oropeza are coordinating on the 'Ciudad Renacimiento' project and a six-year goal of 72,770 homes. This includes the planned 'Condominios Kanasín' development, which seeks environmental authorization for 3,120 apartments.
Nationally, Infonavit reports that 479 developments have been approved, representing 553,000 homes, with 46% of the six-year goal achieved. The program also includes debt restructuring efforts, such as in Tlaxcala, where nearly 25,000 families had unpayable credits restructured.
