Information fragmentation costs employees weeks of productivity
Research conducted by Konica Minolta Australia and analyst firm Omdia highlights the productivity costs of information fragmentation caused by digital transformation. As organizations adopt more cloud applications, collaboration tools, and legacy systems, data becomes increasingly distributed across disconnected platforms.
The study found that employees spend between one and five hours per week searching for information, which equates to approximately two to four working weeks per employee annually. In Australia, 40 per cent of organizations identified information spread across various platforms and departments as their primary information management challenge, while 38 per cent of organizations in New Zealand cited a lack of system integration as a major hurdle.
