Infosys fined €175,000 by French labour authority

France's regional labour authority, DRIEETS Île-de-France, imposed a €175,000 (approximately Rs 2 crore) fine on Indian IT services firm Infosys Ltd for deficiencies in its employee working‑time recording system. The regulator said the company’s time‑tracking setup did not fully meet French requirements for reliability, auditability and monitoring of certain employee categories.

Infosys disclosed the penalty in filings to Indian stock exchanges, stating the sanction has no material impact on its financial position, business operations or project deliveries. The fine comes as Infosys tightens its own attendance policies in India, extending return‑to‑office requirements for senior staff. The case underscores heightened scrutiny of multinational firms by European labour watchdogs and the strict record‑keeping standards imposed by French law.
