INFOTEP and Port Samaná graduate 47 cruise industry specialists

INFOTEP, the Genera ITM Foundation, and Port Samaná have graduated 47 participants from the Arroyo Barril Cruise Port Diploma. This specialized training program is designed to strengthen the competencies required by the cruise industry in the Samaná province.

During the ceremony, INFOTEP regional director Fernelys Berigüete emphasized that human talent training is essential to capitalize on the economic opportunities, employment, and innovation generated by the growth of cruise tourism. In 2026, INFOTEP has executed 332 training actions with over 6,300 participants in Samaná, focusing on areas such as hotel reception, English for tourism, cruise service techniques, and tourist guiding.

Yocasta Medina, Sustainability Director of the Genera ITM Foundation, noted that the graduation marks a milestone for the Arroyo Barril area, stating that port infrastructure development must be accompanied by the preparation of local human capital.
