Infotep Guarocuya School faces criticism over lack of activity in Barahona

Communicator Mayobanex de Jesús Laurens has raised concerns regarding the lack of activity at the Guarocuya School of the National Institute of Technical-Professional Training (Infotep) in Barahona. Laurens described the facility as appearing like ‘a desert’ from Monday to Sunday, noting that the current level of movement does not reflect the expected student presence for such an initiative.

The school, a technological and hotel-school center inaugurated by President Luis Abinader, was intended to significantly impact technical-professional training and employment opportunities within Barahona and the Enriquillo region. The lack of visible activity has led to questions regarding student enrollment, course programming, and the overall effectiveness of the center’s educational and economic contributions to the area.
