INFOTEP opens new hospitality and tourism training slots in Higüey

The Instituto Nacional de Formación Técnico Profesional (INFOTEP) announced the opening of new technical training slots for the hospitality and tourism sector at its Escuela de Hotelería, Gastronomía y Pastelería in Higüey. Classes begin on 10 August and are offered Monday‑Friday.

The program provides 23 slots for a Technical Gastronomy course and 21 for Technical Accommodation and Reception in the morning. Additional Centre‑Based (FCC) slots include 20 for Technical Gastronomy (night), 19 for Technical Bakery and Pastry (night) and 18 for Technical Gastronomy (evening). The courses target young people and adults, with dual‑learning and centre‑only formats that combine classroom instruction with on‑the‑job training. Center manager Elisa Acosta highlighted that many participants secure employment before completing their studies thanks to strong links with local tourism businesses. Interested candidates can register at the school on Avenida Altagracia, corner Avenida Juan XXIII, or call 809‑468‑1657 during business hours.
