Infraestruturas de Portugal launches €9.26M rail tender for Alentejo Line

Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) has launched a public tender worth approximately 9.26 million euros for the supply of rails to modernize the Casa Branca–Beja section of the Alentejo Line.

The contract involves the acquisition of 8,300 tons of 60E1 type rails, produced with R260 quality steel. Deliveries are scheduled to take place in phases over four years, starting in 2027 and concluding in 2030.

This procurement follows a previous tender launched on September 24 for the acquisition of multipurpose monoblock sleepers, valued at approximately 9.5 million euros, both aimed at the same modernization project for this railway stretch.
