Infrastructure and parking disputes emerge in Nuoro and Palermo

In Nuoro, regional Public Works Assessor Antonio Piu announced that construction on the Mughina tunnel is scheduled to begin in 2027, with completion expected in 2028. Piu noted that securing an additional 10 million euros was essential for the project's viability. During the announcement, Piu addressed previous administration efforts, specifically acknowledging former assessor Pierluigi Saiu for his role in securing funds for the Cossatzu-Tascusa road reconstruction.

In Palermo, residents and local civic committees are protesting the expansion of paid parking zones, known as 'blue lines.' The municipal administration's plan introduces 4,500 new paid parking spaces, including 'Zone G,' which encompasses Viale delle Alpi. Local residents argue that the new parking fees are an undue burden, as the area is already heavily disrupted by ongoing construction for the Lazio railway station stop, which has caused issues with traffic, noise, and pedestrian access.
