Infrastructure and road safety measures implemented in Bondeno and Montegrino Valtravaglia
Various infrastructure and traffic management measures are being implemented in different Italian regions to address road safety and damage.
In Bondeno, physical barriers have been installed on via Fermi and via Borgatti to restrict the passage of vehicles wider than 2.30 meters. This measure follows the closure of the SP 9 access to Casumaro due to bridge reconstruction on the Burana canal. The restrictions aim to prevent heavy vehicles from using urban roads not designed for excessive weight, which could damage the gravel-based surfaces near residential areas and farms. Speed limits in these areas have been reduced to 30 km/h with alternating one-way traffic near the narrowings.
In Montegrino Valtravaglia, the Lombardy Region has allocated 757,000 euros to reconstruct a section of via Fabiasco destroyed by a landslide in early 2024. The funding, part of the ‘Bando dissesti 2024’, will support an executive project valued at over 900,000 euros. The project includes slope stabilization and road reconstruction to restore the direct link between the Bosco and Fabiasco districts, which has been closed for over two years.
