Infrastructure and transport developments in Baja California and La Paz

In La Paz, the Tiburón Urbano transit system has launched a new 10-kilometer route designed to serve neighborhoods including El Pedregal del Cortés, Ciudad del Cielo, El Esterito, Ladrillera, and the Zona Centro. Officials estimate the new route will facilitate approximately 16,000 trips per month, providing better connectivity to local schools, museums, and markets. The units feature modern amenities such as air conditioning, panic buttons, ramps, and preferential seating for pregnant women and people with disabilities. Real-time route tracking is available via the La Paz app.

In Tijuana, the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territorial Reordering (SIDURT) has begun asphalt impregnation work on the northern section of the Tijuana-Rosarito 2000 confined lane project. The 12-kilometer intervention has completed 100% of earthworks, including clearing and excavation. The project also includes the installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and electronic tolling, with fiber optic and cabling work currently at a 50% completion rate.
