Infrastructure and transport schedule changes in the Netherlands
Several transport and infrastructure updates have been announced for various regions in the Netherlands.
In the Arnhem, Nijmegen, and Veluwe Zuid regions, RRReis will implement new bus schedules starting November 1. Increased frequencies will be available on several lines during weekday rush hours and Sunday afternoons. Specific lines receiving more frequent service include Arnhem city lines 1, 2, 3, and 5, as well as regional connections such as line 300 to Nijmegen and line 403 to Wageningen.
In the Bergsche Maas region, Stichting De Bergsche Maasveren will implement a winter schedule for its ferries starting November 1, 2026, lasting until February 28, 2027. The Bernse Veer and Capelse Veer will see adjusted operating hours, while the Drongelense Veer will maintain its regular year-round schedule.
Additionally, ProRail has announced that road closures near Rijpwetering due to high-speed line (HSL) repairs will remain in effect until the end of 2029. Technical complexities in reinforcing the railway embankment near Blauwemolenweg have extended the timeline. Preparatory work on the Zuidweg viaduct is expected to begin in early 2028, with significant train service disruptions between Hoofddorp and Rotterdam planned for 2028 and 2029.
