Infrastructure and utility services face challenges in Cabimas and Maturín

In Cabimas, Mayor Frank Carreño reported that the Municipal Gas Company (Emugas) has been performing preventive maintenance and leak repairs on the main pipeline from Ulé for six days. This work aims to address decreased gas pressure caused by system expansion and increased demand. The mayor stated that distribution is expected to return to 100% capacity shortly.

Additionally, the administration is conducting roadwork in Cabimas, including asphalt application in the Los Laureles and Federación 2 sectors, and the installation of a 36-inch collector on Carretera H. The mayor also announced the upcoming delivery of four rehabilitated pumping stations to manage sewage and rainwater.

In Maturín, residents of Orinoco Avenue are facing disruptions due to unfinished sewage pipe repairs by the state company Aguas de Monagas. The stalled project has caused foul odors and blocked vehicle traffic. Local residents and business owners report that the open excavations pose safety risks, particularly during rainfall, and have called for the immediate completion of the works.
