Infrastructure and water safety updates reported in Valdieri and Desulo

In Valdieri, maintenance and hydrogeological safety works on the Rio Colletto stream have been completed. The project, a collaboration between the Piedmont Region and the local municipality, aims to prevent soil instability and flooding. The intervention holds historical significance for the community, as the same waterway caused a devastating flood in 1810.

In Desulo, residents in the Asuai and Ovolaccio districts are currently relying on water tankers for their daily needs. The local water network has been compromised by the presence of Escherichia coli and other coliform bacteria, making tap water unsafe for drinking or food preparation. Mayor Alessandra Peddio has called on the utility provider, Abbanoa, to address the degradation of water storage facilities and secure damaged access points to prevent further contamination and safety risks.
