Infrastructure and water supply issues reported in Bar and Sarajevo

Local authorities in Bar, Montenegro, have begun cleaning sewage channels in the Ilino neighborhood of Jadranska Street. The intervention follows reports of wastewater overflowing into streets and private yards. Officials stated that the existing system, which was sufficient for the previous population, has become inadequate due to rapid and intensive construction in the Šušanj area without corresponding infrastructure development. The blockage was attributed to improper concreting, construction waste, and accumulated silt.

In Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, residents of Koševsko Brdo have reported ongoing water leakage in Muhameda Hadžijahića and Braće Begić streets. While citizens claim that the public utility company, KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija (ViK), has not yet addressed the leaks, the company announced the formation of special teams to monitor water consumption. ViK warned that excessive or non-essential use of water, such as for watering gardens or filling pools, threatens the stability of the supply system and could lead to service disconnections.

Sarajevo continues to face water supply disruptions due to increased turbidity at the Vrelo Crnil source and low output at the Vrelo Mošćanice source, resulting in scheduled outages in several neighborhoods.
