Infrastructure collapse in Peru and protest clashes in Spain

In Peru, the Pampatama Bridge, a vital link between the Aymaraes and Andahuaylas provinces in Apurímac, has collapsed. The incident occurred when two mineral-transporting dump trucks entered the structure simultaneously. The bridge had previously been declared in an emergency state with explicit restrictions against heavy vehicle traffic. While the vehicles became stuck in the wreckage, no injuries were reported. The collapse has severed direct communication to several districts, including Tintay, Lucre, and Chacña, prompting local residents to demand urgent government intervention.

In Spain, a protest in Valladolid organized by the Housing Union (Sindicato de Vivienda) against the eviction of an 87-year-old woman ended in clashes. Although the gathering was initially reported as a static assembly of 250 people, authorities estimated that approximately 1,700 participants attended. Tensions escalated when protesters attempted to move into a traffic-filled street that had not been authorized for a march. During the ensuing confrontation, three police officers sustained minor injuries, and four reports were filed against demonstrators for disobedience and aggression.
