Infrastructure developments and damage reported in health sectors

In Chingora, a strong windstorm has caused significant damage to a 40-year-old health post, resulting in a detached roof and cracked walls. Local residents, led by community president Juan Tomás Yupa Iquiapaza, have expressed frustration over a lack of maintenance and are organizing communal work sessions to address urgent repairs. The community is calling on the San Miguel District Municipality and the San Román Health Network for assistance and the construction of a new facility.

In La Calera, the municipality has unveiled a health infrastructure plan spanning until 2034. The study outlines the construction of new Family Health Centers (Cesfam) and a High Resolutivity Service (SAR) to accommodate population growth. Key projects include a new urban Cesfam capable of serving 10,000 people located near the municipal building, and a new facility in the Artificio sector, with one projected center potentially serving up to 20,000 residents.
