Infrastructure developments announced for Victorian sporting facilities
AFL Victoria has announced a $30,000 funding contribution from the Australian Football Facilities Fund to support a lighting upgrade at Conna Wilson Reserve in Mininera. This addition brings the total external funding for the project to $280,000, following a $250,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund. The Ararat Rural City Council will also provide funding. The project includes the installation of four new light towers, energy-efficient LED lighting, and an upgraded power supply to improve safety and visibility for the SMW Rovers Football Netball Club.
In a separate development, Melbourne Victory has revealed plans for the Arden Campus within the Arden Central parkland precinct. This project is part of a $7 billion redevelopment led by Hamton and HostPlus on behalf of the Victorian Government. The new campus aims to support women’s and youth programs and will include a community hub and field. The broader Arden Central transformation is expected to create a new school and over 5,400 new homes.
