Infrastructure developments in Gallarate and Ravone

In Gallarate, the Moriggia swimming pool project has stalled. The facility has been closed to the public since September 2025 for a major redevelopment via project financing. The opposition group Obiettivo Comune Gallarate, led by Massimo Gnocchi, has raised concerns regarding the site's security and the lack of progress, noting that actual construction work has not begun despite preliminary demolitions being completed. While Mayor Andrea Cassani previously suggested a reopening in early 2027, the project currently awaits the approval of the final design.

In Ravone, the Italian government has reached an agreement with the regional administration to fund a tunnel designed to redirect the Ravone stream. This project aims to prevent flooding in the via Andrea Costa neighborhood, which was impacted by recent flooding. Galeazzo Bignami, head of the Fratelli d’Italia group in the Chamber of Deputies, announced that 15 million euros are available to finance feasibility studies, soil investigations, and initial safety works. This intervention is considered a priority within the broader post-flood reconstruction efforts in Emilia-Romagna.
