Infrastructure developments in San Juan and budget challenges in San Juan del Río

In San Juan, Argentina, the provincial government has inaugurated 15 educational buildings between 2024 and 2026. These projects include new schools and kindergartens, as well as renovations and expansions. The initiative aims to maintain educational infrastructure investment despite a national slowdown in public works. Additionally, the province is implementing an Urban Pavement Plan across 19 departments and focusing on the maintenance of provincial routes.

In San Juan del Río, Mexico, Mayor Roberto Cabrera Valencia reported that the municipality ranks 18th in per capita budget among municipalities in Querétaro. The mayor attributed this low ranking to historically low collection rates from property taxes and construction licenses. Despite being the second most populous municipality in the state, the city faces challenges in providing basic services like water, electricity, and drainage to certain neighborhoods due to rapid population growth and a lack of long-term urban planning.
