Infrastructure developments reported in Mexico and Colombia
In Mexico, Governor Mauricio Kuri González is overseeing infrastructure and preventive measures in the Sierra Gorda region due to heavy rains. In Jalpan de Serra, a new pedestrian bridge costing over four million pesos has been reconstructed to benefit 35,500 residents. Additionally, authorities are monitoring the Jalpan Dam, which is currently at 100% capacity. In Arroyo Seco, emergency measures including a zipline have been implemented to facilitate the movement of people and supplies in Santa María de Cocos, while crews work to clear a landslide blocking Federal Highway 69.
In Colombia, the National Institute of Roads (Invías) has committed to remodeling the urban passage of Lorica before the 2027 National Games. Córdoba Governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara met with Invías Director Juan Camilo Ostos Romero to discuss this 7.7-kilometer stretch. The project follows long-standing local demands for road maintenance and a bypass. The Governor also raised concerns regarding other regional corridors, including the Ruta del Plátano and the Moñitos–Santa Lucía route.
