Italy municipalities launch various urban regeneration projects

Various municipalities across Italy are initiating or progressing through several urban regeneration and infrastructure projects aimed at improving public spaces, safety, and local commerce.

In Voghera, the “GenerAZIONI” project is entering its final stages to repurpose the former Cavalry Barracks into educational and social spaces, with an investment of 1.17 million euros. Similarly, Bozzolo is beginning work on Porta San Martino to create a tourist reception point, and Cattolica has approved the redevelopment of Casa Cerri into a center for families and associations.

Other regional developments include the revitalization of Giardini del Prolungamento in Savona, the redevelopment of Piazza Capocci in Picinisco via Ministry funding, and the renovation of the Via Guelfi building in Cascina. In Alba, maintenance and paving works are underway in the historic center, while Cosenza is preparing to renovate the via Padre Giglio underpass.

In the sports and logistics sectors, Rimini is expanding its fairground parking capacity by nearly 1,000 spaces. However, Cassano Magnago faces challenges regarding a 3.68 million euro PNRR-funded handball technical center that has faced delays due to bureaucratic and planning shifts.
