Infrastructure disruptions and accidents reported in the Netherlands

Multiple infrastructure and traffic incidents have been reported across the Netherlands. In the province of Groningen, residents and businesses in Kollum, Kollumerpomp, Ee, and Engwierum experienced a power outage, which forced a local hardware store to close. The outage was expected to last until 15:00.

Rail services also faced significant disruptions due to various technical issues. A switch failure between Leeuwarden and Groningen caused delays and reduced service between Buitenpost and Groningen. Additionally, signal and switch malfunctions on the route between Leeuwarden and Zwolle limited train travel to Meppel, necessitating limited bus services between Zwolle and Meppel.

Several road accidents were also documented. In Zevenhuizen, a head-on collision occurred between a passenger car and a taxi bus for disabled transport, resulting in the bus landing partially in a ditch. A passenger in an electric wheelchair and the car driver were hospitalized. Other incidents included a collision between a car and a cyclist in Stad, a car-on-car accident at a traffic light in Stad, and a vehicle striking a deer on the A7 near Midwolde.
