Infrastructure improvements delivered in Chiriguaná and La Unión
In the Cesar department, Drummond Ltd. has completed the renovation of infrastructure at the La Aurora Educational Institution in Chiriguaná. The project, funded entirely by the mining company in coordination with the local mayor's office, addressed a decade-long issue by rehabilitating a two-story block that had remained unfinished since 2012. The works included the completion of a multi-purpose room and two additional classrooms, as well as the modernization of 13 existing classrooms through roof repairs, electrical upgrades, and structural maintenance. The improvements directly benefit over 450 students and teachers.
In the Antioquia department, the Governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián, inaugurated a new sports court at the Pío XI Educational Institution in La Unión. The $232 million COP investment provides renovated facilities and lighting for 1,185 students. Additionally, the regional government and local municipality are working on the construction of 1,130 meters of rural roads (placa huella) across several sectors, including Buenavista and San Miguel. These roadworks, part of a larger $6,533 million COP investment in the municipality, are expected to benefit more than 4,600 people.
