Manaus implements various urban infrastructure and revitalization projects

The city of Manaus is undertaking several infrastructure initiatives aimed at urban revitalization and public safety. In the Historic Center, the requalification of Ferreira Pena Street is progressing, with works including drainage, paving with interlocking pavers, and the installation of underground electrical and telecommunications networks to establish the city’s first Gastronomic Street.

In the North Zone, the municipal government is conducting dredging operations in the Dom Bosco stream within the Cidade de Deus neighborhood to remove waste and sediment, a measure intended to prevent flooding during the rainy season. Additionally, paving works are underway in the Riacho Doce community, where 120 tons of asphalt have been applied to improve road conditions.

Social and cultural projects are also being integrated into urban management. The Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU) is partnering with Sest Senat to launch the ‘Rota Acessível’ program, which aims to train public transport drivers to better serve people with disabilities and autism. Furthermore, the ‘Manaus em Cores’ project is transforming city viaducts into open-air art galleries featuring murals inspired by Amazonian culture and legends.
