Infrastructure improvements underway in San Sebastián and Veracruz

In San Sebastián, Chile, Mayor Lily Silva García has officially handed over land for the paving of Carlos Martínez Street. The project, funded by the Valparaíso Regional Government through the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR), involves an investment of approximately $243 million CLP. The works include asphalt paving, sidewalks, universal access, and a rainwater collection system consisting of 280 meters of piping and four sumps to improve drainage. The contractor is expected to complete the project within 99 days.

In Veracruz, Mexico, Mayor Rosa María Hernández Espejo is overseeing multiple urban infrastructure projects. In the Pocitos y Rivera neighborhood, crews are constructing a new storm drainage system on 9th Street to replace a 50-year-old system that has caused recurring flooding. Additionally, in Lomas de Río Medio 4, the municipality is rehabilitating Río Guadalquivir Street by applying over 5,700 square meters of heavy-duty asphalt to improve mobility and safety for residents and public transport users.
