Nowy Targ Council approves plans for municipal animal shelter

The Nowy Targ City Council has approved two draft resolutions regarding the potential establishment of a municipal animal shelter. The proposed facility would be located near an existing waste sorting plant on land co-owned by several Podhale municipalities.

The approved measures include a change to the local spatial development plan for the ‘Nowy Targ 8’ area and a directive for the mayor to develop a formal concept for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the shelter. The mayor is also tasked with formally seeking opinions from the local governments of the Nowy Targ and Tatry counties to determine the necessity and scale of the facility.
