Infrastructure investments announced by Elektrohercegovina and HIP-Petrohemija

Elektrohercegovina has announced plans to invest 5 million KM into electrical energy infrastructure through 2026. The investment includes 2 million KM for new construction and 3 million KM for the renovation and reconstruction of energy facilities. Significant progress has already been made, with approximately 50 percent of construction investments and 60 percent of renovation plans realized. Key projects include the construction of a new assembly-concrete transformer station in Nevesinje and the relocation of the ‘Škola Gorica’ transformer station in Trebinje. Recent summer fires have caused damage to several dozen poles, though repairs on the Korita–Tepure high-voltage line have been completed.

In a separate industrial development, HIP-Petrohemija has commenced a capital renovation valued at 15 million EUR. The project, which is scheduled to run until November 18, aims to improve production processes and increase plant reliability. Production has been suspended at factories in Pančevo, with the synthetic rubber factory in Elemir scheduled for shutdown starting September 30. The renovation involves 28 specific projects, including work on high-pressure steam boilers and steel structures. Approximately 620 external contractors will be engaged to assist HIP-Petrohemija employees during this period.
