Infrastructure maintenance and construction projects underway in Italy

Several infrastructure projects are progressing in Italy to improve road safety and hydraulic security. In Venturina Terme, construction of the new bridge over the Corniaccia stream is in an advanced stage. Following the installation of 14 foundation piles, workers are currently laying the deck beams. The project aims to mitigate hydraulic risks during extreme weather events and improve local connectivity through new pedestrian and cycle paths between the Coltie district and the center of Venturina.

In the Chioggia area, maintenance work is scheduled for the bridges connecting Isola dell’Unione, Isola dei Cantieri, and Sottomarina. The interventions include removing damaged joints and installing an anti-pumping system using bituminous membranes to waterproof the road base. These works will involve temporary traffic changes, including alternating one-way traffic regulated by temporary signals, to ensure safety during the structural upgrades.
