Infrastructure maintenance projects in Bielefeld and Neustadt
Stadtwerke Bielefeld has announced a temporary interruption of district heating services for approximately 130 households near Bleichstraße. The shutdown is scheduled from Tuesday, October 27, at 8:00 AM until Thursday, October 29, at 5:00 PM. This measure is necessary to reconnect the main supply line following extensive repairs conducted over the summer to fix damage sustained in the spring.
Affected streets include Am Finkenbach, Am Stückenkamp, Auf dem langen Kampe, Bleichstraße, Brehmstraße, Feldstraße, Flachsstraße, Flurstraße, Hanfstraße, Heckstraße, Liebigstraße, Lohbreite, Petristraße, and Zur alten Gärtnerei. Some households may lack hot water during this period. As a compensatory measure, affected residents are offered free entry to the Familienbad Heepen to access warm water and showers.
In Neustadt, the renovation of Moltkestraße between Landauer Straße and Von-Hartmann-Straße has been completed. The project involved replacing aging sewage, gas, electricity, and water lines, some of which dated back to 1926. The combined effort by the city's waste management department and local utilities cost approximately 590,000 euros. The completed work includes new road surfaces, sidewalks, ten new parking spaces, and upcoming plantings of four trees.
