Infrastructure maintenance projects underway across Spain

Various infrastructure maintenance and renovation projects are underway across different regions in Spain.

In Catalonia, the Eix d’Aro road corridor between Maçanet de la Selva and Platja d’Aro will undergo pavement renewal this October. Driven by the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, the project aims to improve road safety and reduce environmental impact by using approximately 1,800 tons of sustainable asphalt over 42,000 square meters.

In Mallorca, Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) has allocated nearly 12 million euros for the maintenance of railway tracks, bridges, and related installations. This represents a 127% increase in the annual maintenance budget compared to the previous contract, intended to enhance service reliability and safety.

Additionally, in Port d’Alcúdia, the local government has resumed sewage and road paving works following the peak tourist season. The sewage project on the Artà road involves replacing old fiber-cement pipes with PVC to improve efficiency, funded by a budget exceeding 1.9 million euros via the Sustainable Tourism Tax. Parallel street paving works are also continuing as part of a larger 6 million euro investment plan.
