Infrastructure Minister inspects road works in Kasaï
Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, John Banza Lunda, has conducted inspections of several road construction projects in the Kasaï region. During his visit to Kasaï-Central, the Kaluebo bridge was officially commissioned and opened to traffic.
On the Tshikapa-Kananga section, 22 kilometers are fully asphalted, while 30 kilometers are undergoing roadbed preparation. Regarding the Kananga-Kalamba-Mbuji road, 43 kilometers have been paved out of the planned 230 kilometers. The overall execution rate for this project is estimated at approximately 22%.
To ensure the continuity of these infrastructure projects, an additional 40 million dollars has been announced. The works on the RN1 rehabilitation project have also seen the deployment of 30 new trucks to strengthen operations, currently employing 800 direct workers and approximately 80 expatriate experts.
