Infrastructure modernization projects begin in Klagenfurt and Völs

Major infrastructure renovation projects have commenced in several Austrian locations. In Klagenfurt, construction began on Paradeisergasse to modernize essential utilities, including sewage, drinking water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications. While the street is closed to car traffic until approximately early November, local businesses remain accessible to pedestrians.

In Völs, construction has officially started on a comprehensive redevelopment of the Völs railway station. Scheduled to continue until the end of 2029, the project includes renewing platform facilities to accommodate longer regional trains, installing three elevators for barrier-free access, and upgrading technical infrastructure such as tracks and overhead lines. The historical station building will be preserved, and the surrounding area will be redesigned with improved parking, bike facilities, and pedestrian safety measures.
