Brazil infrastructure: Bridge works and road projects advance

Various infrastructure and construction projects are underway across different Brazilian regions. In Itaipava, Petrópolis, the concessionaire Elovias has completed the installation of nine 37-ton concrete beams for the new Arranha-Céu Bridge on the BR-040. This milestone allows for the reopening of access to Km 58, with full project completion expected by October 2026.

In Itabuna, construction of a new bridge over the Rio Cachoeira has reached 83% completion. The project, funded through a partnership with FONPLATA, aims to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion between the city center and the Conceição neighborhood.

In Acre, the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) has finalized the extension of the Tarauacá River bridge on the BR-364 highway. The addition of 70 meters to the structure restores full vehicle flow, securing a vital logistics link between the Juruá Valley and the rest of the state.

Additionally, the municipality of Rio Claro has scheduled a bidding process for a R$ 13.6 million asphalt resurfacing project covering over 197,000 square meters across 16 neighborhoods. Meanwhile, in Petrópolis, the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) upheld an eviction order for the Turp bus garage on the BR-040 due to unpaid rent exceeding R$ 600,000.
