The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) is advancing a major road solution project on República de Colombia Avenue in the Greater Santo Domingo area. The project aims to improve mobility between the National District and the municipalities of Santo Domingo Norte and Santo Domingo Oeste.

Key infrastructure milestones include the construction of a viaduct exceeding 200 meters over the Arroyo Hondo ravine and the installation of beams for a bridge at the intersection of Jacobo Majluta Avenue. Additionally, excavation has begun for a 580-meter tunnel passing beneath the Cuba neighborhood.

The project involves an initial investment of 10 billion pesos and covers a seven-kilometer stretch divided into three segments. The works include bridges, tunnels, trenches, and operational turnarounds designed to reorganize traffic flow and reduce congestion in this critical connection point.
