Infrastructure projects advance in France and Chad

Major infrastructure projects are progressing in France and Chad. In France, the Grand Est region is investing €70 million to expand the RN4 highway near Saint-Georges to a dual two-lane configuration. The project, which covers 7.2 km, is currently in a phase involving earthworks and the preparation of major structures. While the road remains open to the approximately 14,000 daily vehicles, construction has introduced speed restrictions of 50 km/h and soon 30 km/h in certain zones. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2030.

In Chad, urban road construction and paving works have resumed in Sarh after a year-long interruption caused by the rainy season. The project covers 11.555 kilometers of urban roads, aimed at improving traffic flow and rainwater drainage. Teams are currently working on sanitation structures and earthworks, including the Banda axis, to direct water toward the Barh-Koh river. Project officials have noted challenges such as the presence of children near work zones and instances of equipment theft or vandalism.
