Infrastructure development projects underway in Managua, Tungurahua, and Guayaquil

Various regional infrastructure projects are progressing across Latin America. In Managua, Nicaragua, the rehabilitation of Calle El Triunfo has reached 40% completion, with plans to replace old cobblestones with asphalt to improve heavy vehicle circulation. The municipality also announced a projected investment of 1,120 million córdobas for 72 projects in District II for 2027, covering streets, parks, and community spaces.

In Ecuador, road expansion is underway on the Tungurahua Access North (Yambo–Ambato section), which will increase the roadway from four to six lanes. This 104.1 million dollar project includes the construction of five road solutions and eight pedestrian crossings. Meanwhile, in Guayaquil, the reconstruction of Calle Cuarta de Mapasingue Este is moving toward the concreting phase following the renewal of hydro-sanitary systems. This work is part of a 6.4 million dollar maintenance contract for 29 kilometers of roads in northwest Guayaquil.

Additionally, Peru’s PROINVERSIÓN presented its ‘Model 5.0’ in Quito, focusing on a comprehensive approach to infrastructure that manages projects from formulation through to operation, including public-private partnerships and tax-based works.
