Infrastructure projects advance in Mexico while Peru faces funding delays
Municipal authorities in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, have launched an infrastructure project in the community of Las Catarinas. The work includes the construction of approximately 1,955 square meters of hydraulic pavement, curbs, sidewalks, and the installation of sanitary drainage, potable water networks, and lighting. The project aims to improve mobility and safety near the Justo Sierra elementary school and the local health center.
In Juliaca, the paving and sidewalk improvement project for the Santa Catalina urbanization remains stalled due to funding issues. Dora Quecara, president of the urbanization, reported that the 5.9 million soles project has faced administrative delays after funds were incorrectly diverted to the Transport sector. While technical files are complete, the execution may be postponed until early next year as local leaders continue to negotiate for the reassignment of the budget.
