Infrastructure projects advance in Natal and São Roque do Pico

Infrastructure improvements are underway in Natal, Brazil, and São Roque do Pico, Portugal.

In Natal, the Municipal Infrastructure Secretariat has begun repaving Rua Cauby Barroca in the Rocas neighborhood following the completion of a drainage system installation. The project aims to mitigate historical flooding during rainy seasons. Local officials noted that the new piping already prevented flooding during recent rainfall despite the work being incomplete.

In São Roque do Pico, work has commenced on the Rua do Cais as part of a maritime front rehabilitation project. The initiative, funded through an ARAAL contract and valued at over 600,000 euros, involves removing existing pavement to prepare for bituminous road surfaces. The project includes coastal protection measures and the creation of pedestrian crossings to improve safety and accommodate increased traffic.
