Infrastructure projects advance in Puebla and Morelos

In Puebla, the completion of the ‘Puente de la Transformación’ has significantly improved regional mobility. The 480-meter bridge reduces travel time by car from 50 minutes to approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds, benefiting roughly 1.7 million people in the Mixteca region. Local officials noted the project is expected to boost tourism and the local economy, particularly by strengthening the ‘Ruta del Mezcal’.

In Morelos, the state government has launched a major road rehabilitation project titled ‘Circuito Tierra y Libertad’. The Secretariat of Infrastructure aims to complete the comprehensive reconstruction of 650 kilometers of priority roads by 2026. This initiative focuses on deep reconstruction rather than simple pothole repair, covering approximately 41 percent of the state's total road network. The plan includes critical evacuation routes near the Popocatépetl volcano and essential secondary roads used by the agricultural sector to transport harvests.
