Infrastructure projects advance in Teruel and Madrid
In Teruel, the City Council has unveiled architectural alternatives to connect the San Julián neighborhood with the Ensanche district. The first proposal involves installing an oblique inclined elevator with an estimated budget of 3.7 million euros. The project features a 68-meter path to overcome a 33-meter elevation difference at a 55% incline. The system will include two independent cabins, each with a capacity for 12 passengers, to ensure continuous service during maintenance. The plan also incorporates a pedestrian staircase with a lightweight cover.
In Madrid, renovation works at the Santiago Bernabéu Metro station have exceeded 70% execution. The project aims to triple the station's surface area and will include 12 elevators and 24 escalators to improve accessibility. While the Line 10 section between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco is expected to resume service by late December, trains will not stop at Santiago Bernabéu until the renovation is fully complete. During this interim period, a free alternative bus service will operate between the affected stations.
