Infrastructure projects approved in Alcalá de Henares and Granada

Two separate municipal infrastructure projects have been approved in Spain.

In Alcalá de Henares, the city council has allocated over 2 million euros for the first phase of a traffic calming project on Avenida de Madrid. The eight-month initiative aims to improve pedestrian mobility, universal accessibility, and road safety between the Plaza de las 25 Villas roundabout and the Arganda roundabout. Key works include converting provisional roundabouts into permanent structures, renovating approximately 30,000 square meters of roadway and sidewalks, installing seven speed bumps, and updating signage and landscaping.

In Granada, the Grulop 21 company has been awarded a 2.79 million euro contract to renovate the Los Cármenes stadium. The project, which is expected to last ten months, addresses structural issues caused by aging. Notably, the stadium will remain operational during the works, allowing Granada CF to continue playing matches according to the sporting calendar.
