Infrastructure projects advance with new bridge construction in Latin America

Various infrastructure projects involving bridge construction and road improvements are underway across Latin America.

In Bogotá, Colombia, the Secretaría de Movilidad announced significant traffic changes due to the dismantling of the Calle 100 bridge at Carrera 7. This work is part of a project to build a new four-lane bridge connecting the Carrera 68 trunk line with Carrera 7, with completion expected by late 2027. Temporary diversions and lane changes are being implemented to manage traffic flow during the demolition and construction phases.

In Costa Rica, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) and the National Council of Roads (Conavi) have begun constructing a new bridge over the Torres River in La Uruca, San José. The $11.1 million project, funded by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), will expand the Circunvalación from two to six lanes, benefiting approximately 384,109 people.

In Uruguay, the Municipality of Maldonado signed a contract to begin construction on the Paso del Guerrero bridge. This strategic project aims to improve connectivity and manage heavy vehicle traffic by linking Paso del Guerrero with Camino Egusquiza and Route 104.
