Infrastructure projects face delays in Lanzarote and Tandil

In Lanzarote, Spain, the proposed Congress Center near Arrecife remains unbuilt nearly two decades after its initial planning stages began. The project, which was awarded to a team including Henning Larsen Architects and Carlos Morales in 2009, has faced continuous delays due to urban planning obstacles and the absence of budgetary allocations from the regional government since 2011.

In Tandil, Argentina, the Cooperativa Falucho has resumed work on the Sans Souci social housing project, which consists of 156 homes. Although construction has restarted with approximately 15 workers, the company describes the situation as “complicada” (complicated). The cooperative is seeking updated payment amounts from the Buenos Aires provincial government, noting that recent payments were based on November 2025 values and requesting compensation for costs incurred during an eight-month work suspension.
