Infrastructure projects face delays in Miskolc and Csíkszereda

Local infrastructure projects in Miskolc and Csíkszereda are facing delays due to financial and legal hurdles.

In Miskolc, the reconstruction of the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath's aquatherapy section lacks a current development plan or budget from the Ministry of Transport and Construction. While the local municipality previously discussed plans for the therapeutic section, the Ministry maintains that no proposal is currently under review and considers the project a municipal responsibility. An estimated 4.5 billion forints would be required to proceed with the development.

In Csíkszereda, the renovation of the 1.5-hectare Fodor Sándor Park has been delayed by public procurement disputes. Although a financing agreement was signed last August, the project is stalled following appeals by bidders. The legal process is ongoing as authorities await a re-evaluation following complaints filed with the Marosvásárhely Court of Appeal. The project, valued at 11.55 million lei, aims to modernize the park's greenery, add automated public toilets, and improve surrounding infrastructure.
